Companies like Hulu and Netflix are pretty steep competition for Apple in the online video services arena. As of right now iTunes users must purchase TV episodes to watch them; prices can be anywhere from 99 cents to upwards of $2.99 per episode. Why spend that much money per show when you have the possibility of streaming it for free on Hulu or just signing up for a Netflix subscription and paying about $9 a month with the ability of watching certain shows instantly or adding others to your queue for no additional cost

Antoine Dodson Embraces Huge Unexpected Viral Video Fame

Hot on the heels of our article about the highest-earning YouTube stars comes this story from NPR about Antoine Dodson.  Antoine Dodson, if you live in a cave, is the guy from Huntsville, Alabama, that has surged to fame via an interview with the local news.  After a break-in and attempted assault of his sister, Dodson—who had helped fight off the attacker—gave an interview with some memorable quotes.  You might remember this section: “Obviously, we have a rapist in Lincoln Park. Tremor Media Announces HTML5 Support For Video Ads

Tremor Media announced they’re going to begin offering HTML5 support for their video ads, mainly focusing on the iPad and then other mobile platforms. Considering that they reach about 19% of the US population and show around 450 Million ads a month, it’s a smart move.They are not the first video ad network to implement HTML5, nor will they be the last as many people begin to see some value in offering video ads to the iPs.

PlayOn Brings Hulu, Netflix to iPhone via Safari, or Does it?

I found this to be rather interesting, PlayOn if offering a free software update to its Premium subscribers that will work on the iPhone and iPod touch via Safari.
