Maybe Netflix was right after all. No, not in the way they handled their price increase, but maybe in their logic for creating the increase in the first place. See, we’ve always assumed that Netflix’s price hike this summer was about setting the stage for streaming video as the primary service for the future

If you have an Xbox 360 and are in the Xbox Live preview program, you can now be a beta participant in YouTube’s new app for the console .  Coming days after Microsoft introduced a new dashboard for the service, Xbox 360 officially becomes yet another place where you can watch YouTube, which is good news for the world’s dominant video site because as we covered a month or so ago, gaming consoles are the main source for watching online video on TV .  The new service will also be able to be controlled through Kinect.

How To Create YouTube Playlists To Curate Content & Leverage Your Video Catalog

At the point where you have made a lot of videos, there is a point where organizing select videos into playlists becomes a great way to entice new viewers and fans alike to watch multiple entries in one sitting.  Playlists are another word for “Greatest Hits” or “Themes,” or if you’re older, “A Mix Tape.”  The term has long been used for music and programmable portable players like the iPod, but now video is easy to organize into “hit” lists in much the same way on YouTube.  The parsing of multiple videos into a distinct, themed playlist is a type of video curation, where you focus content in the hopes that if a viewer gets hooked with the first video in the playlist, you’ll likely have that person stick around to see the rest. The Playbook overview: Strategy : Organize your content into sets of videos using playlists and video responses.  Create themed content or curate content using playlists Why It Works : Playlists help organize your content into meaningful sets of videos which will increase the number of videos a viewer watches and improve navigation of your content. How to Do It : Create playlists for different sets of videos.  Add new uploads to relevant playlists and set them as video responses to other videos.

Small Business Video – Can All Websites Benefit From Video Content?

Admittedly there is probably a bias of opinion both in myself and in many of the readers at ReelSEO, but I am going to attempt to approach this subject objectively to find out if all websites can benefit form video content. I decided that the best way to do this would be to ask 5 friends who love to stitch me up to pick a website each that they think it would be difficult to create a video about. I would then have to come up with a way for the site to use video that would enhance their website experience for the site visitors. Unfortunately, as you will see below their challenges were pathetic or ridiculous so in search of a real contest I bid you to enter a website URL into the comment box for me to find a way that they could leverage video to make their site fulfill it’s purpose in life better.
