Stupeflix Reworks Video Creation API Access To Commoditize Video Creation

Stupeflix announced today, at the Business Video Expo, that they are changing the way they connect to developers and allow access to the Stupeflix video creation suite API. Whereas it was somewhat cost prohibitive in the past, they are now lowering the price of both access and video rendering to commoditize video creation. Previously, says Jean-Francois Boudier, Stupeflix co-founder and CTO, access to the API was dependent on requirements definition, commercial proposal, negotiation, contracts, signatures, etc.

Streaming Super Bowl Ad CPM Higher Than TV Ads

According to Mediapost, streaming video ads for the Super Bowl XLVI videocast will be more than the average TV-based Super Bowl ad, around 1.5 times as much. What does that say about the importance and maturity of online video advertising? I think it might be saying “we have arrived.” Then again it could be saying, “The NFL is uber-greedy!” Streaming Video Ads For Super Bowl XLVI Set At $55 CPM Who would pay a rate so high that it is estimated to be around $20 higher CPM than the TV ads?

YouTube "Your Film Festival" To Award A Half-Million To Great Storyteller

Here’s another exciting YouTube initiative: film and video makers around the world can enter “Your Film Festival” beginning February 2 and have the chance to win $500,000 to work with Ridley Scott and top-notch producers on their next project.  Oh yeah, and just a trip to the Venice Film Festival.  That’s all.  The video must be story-driven, done in 15 minutes, and it can be any genre, just as long as it was never publicly screened or distributed before January 1, 2010.  The deadline is March 31, and Ridley and Tony Scott’s Scott Free production company will pick 50 semi-finalists by June.

Online Movie Trailers For Friday, January 20 Include Vampires, Werewolves, The MMA, & George Lucas

So Contraband was the ultimate view-getter in the online world, which translated to a nearly $30 million opening weekend, coasting past The Beauty and the Beast 3D re-issue ($23 million), while Joyful Noise did a not-too-shabby $11 million.  This weekend is loaded.  First, we have a new Underworld movie, which will probably destroy the competition.  There’s Red Tails , which is about the Tuskegee Airmen that George Lucas says took him 20 years to make.  Steven Soderbergh is back with the action picture Haywire , starring MMA chick Gina Carano, and the Tom Hanks vehicle Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close gets a wide release. Underworld: Awakening – More Vampires and Werewolves, With A Resident Evil Twist I must confess I’ve never liked one Underworld movie.  I don’t like the idea of vampires and werewolves fighting a war with guns and knives, which seem to defeat the mystique of the creatures, but hey, whatever.  Kate Beckinsale is back after the third movie decided to go prequel, and this new entry will focus on a “new enemy,” which is apparently a hybrid vampire/werewolf
