As early as tomorrow, Facebook is expected to file paperwork for an initial public offering (IPO). The social media giant is reportedly hoping to raise $10 billion on a valuation of $100 billion. Google, the world’s largest search engine, has been working with Best Buy, Macy’s, and other retailers to develop a “web-based circular” similar to the weekly sales ad inserts found in major newspapers. The new circular ads, which are expected to launch today, will feature large pictures and marketing copy. The circulars will be promoted through search ads and they will be automatically generated on multiple factors including the search query subject and the user’s location

Twitter Revenue Projections: A Mixed Report

According to a recent eMarketer report, Twitter’s 2011 advertising revenues will fall short of the earlier $150 million projection. However, when compared to Twitter’s $45 million of revenue in 2010, the revised 2011 projected revenues of $139.5 million represent a growth rate of 210%. The primary reason Twitter will not meet the $150 million projection is a delay in rolling out a “self-serve” ad platform

Demand For Online Video Fuels Digital Revenue For Sports Programming

Sports leagues are making hundreds of millions in digital revenue from paid content, ads and other revenue streams, according to a new report from eMarketer.The NFL tops the list at about $500 million in digital revenue, MLB at $450 million, the NBA at $225 million and the NHL at $120 million, the study found.
