YouTube Announces “Safety Mode” As a New Layer of Content Control

YouTube has announced a new feature they’re calling Safety Mode.  Safety Mode is essentially a new content-filter to help with the potentially mature content that doesn’t quite meet the established “offensiveness” standards.  That’s a fancy way of saying that Safety Mode will help you block out content that is objectionable to you but not so This is a post from ReelSEO Video Marketing . How To Download YouTube Videos & When It Might Be Okay

Is it wrong to download a YouTube video? I guess that depends completely on who you ask.  I’m sure YouTube would tell you that it is.  In fact, they do – their terms of service says the following, in Section 5: “Your Use of Content on the Site”: B.) You may access User Submissions for your information and personal use solely as intended through the provided functionality of the YouTube Website. You shall not copy or download any User Submission unless you see a “download” or similar link displayed by YouTube on the YouTube Website for that User Submission… …E.) You agree to not engage in the use, copying, or distribution of any of the Content other than expressly permitted herein, including any use, copying, or distribution of User Submissions of third parties obtained through the Website for any commercial purposes.” So YouTube is pretty clearly against it.  And we all know that you’ve never broken the Terms of Service agreement for an online service before, right

Online Video Platform Solutions Focus on Video SEO Goodness

Validation feels good   What do I mean by this?  Well, over the past year, many of the online video platforms that we write about, have begun to focus a bit on helping their customers deploy videos that are more search engine friendly.  I imagine that the focus on video SEO comes from the platform’s customers who are hearing the video SEO buzz and are publishing more and more videos that they want to have discovered. I interview intellectual property and e-commerce attorney David M. Adler, and explores the question: Can you feature someone in a video advertisement simply because you have video footage (or can access video footage) of them using or talking about your product, service, or brand?
