Brightcove Experiences Mobile Video with Flash Player 10.1

Brightcove recently announced that they will support the upcoming release of Adobe’s Flash Player 10.1. Brightcove’s new optimized mobile version of the company’s cloud-based online video platform, dubbed the “Mobile Experience,” will utilize Adobe’s Flash 10.1 player to reproduce the Brightcove player experience on smartphones. The news comes out of the Mobile World Congress

AOL has purchased video production company StudioNow Inc for $36.5 million. We wrote about StudioNow back in the Fall of 2008 , when they had just signed a deal to develop videos for CitySearch.  This merger/purchase is newsworthy because of the technology that StudioNow had created–as well as for what it might mean for AOL’s ability to delve deeper into video

YouTube Embraces HTML 5 Video, Experimentally

YouTube recently stated that they want to help push HTML 5 to the forefront and have begun a more robust experiment to use it on their site. You have to opt-in to beta program in order to see the HTML 5 pages and there are some serious limitations to what it can do right now. In a recent blog post, YouTube has stated that the number one request from user (hard to believe) was that YouTube do more with HTML 5
