LongTail Video does and they broke down just where it all stands now in a nice, informative way in the LongTail Video State of HTML5 Video . They went through six key factors on how HTML5 Video is doing presently to give the industry an overhead look at how things are progressing and I have to say, in some areas it’s quite grim

The flames are on full blast in the tablet world as Amazon has released their new Kindle, the Android-powered Kindle Fire. Will it set online video alight with its hotness? Ooyala, whom I need to speak with about something else and who should email me (yeah, I know it works because I’ve done it before), put out a pretty rockin new infographic on Friday which talked about video consumption. I just happened to stumble upon it when I was looking for info on their Ooyala Social (which I also need to talk to them about) which adds a bunch of social features to the HD streaming video experience (like Hulu has, sort of like LeanIn provides, etc). Well, Apple isn’t really doing much except maybe nudging studios and preaching about the awesomeness of their products, but several big names in TV have made some overtures to get their TV content in front of iOS users, mainly the iPad. Since it seems like a nice sort of platform for that sort of thing, I would love to watch TV on an iPad from what I’ve seen of them, especially in those spaces where it’s up close and personal and I don’t have much space: bus, plane, etc.
